Not gonna lie, great stuff. The problems I have though arethese.... First, the male voice is not at all appropriate as it is much louder than the girl's and somewhat distorted at times. Also, if she used her small katana(forgot the name of it) as a zip line, wouldn't she need to hook it down somewhere and somehow first? Which would mean she couldn't be using it for the rest of the video... And that brings me to my next argument, the landing. For the sake of argument, let's say she used a real zip line to get inside the building, she shouldn't waste time retrieving it if she wants to reach her target before it escapes, hence the walking hallway simply doesn't make sense to me at all if she's an assassin. Every time I see an invasion scenario in anime, the invaders are always running in guns blazing, not walking along like it's a stroll in the park.

Lastly, if you didn't get atleast a mention for your project, then those machinima folks are stupid.

Don't take what I said personnaly, I'm no proffessional and I'm not out to shut down new ideas(not a naruto fan btw) like making a modern ninja assassin video like this. I actually find it refreshing and new and fun to watch(despite its almost crippling problems), I give you double thumbs up for it! =D

P.S. I don't know why but I kept hearing the blade theme song in my head from the start of the fighting to the end. xD Am I deranged for thinking that it fits in better than a naruto OP?

Kel-chan responds:

the harpoon katana is retractable- she can shoot it into walls and pull out the blade piton. It doesn't make sense in real life but neither does batman's grapple gun but it functions the same way.

machinima published this on their page and it had a crappy response because it was pretty crappy honestly.

I had about a week to make this for the deadline whereas other people had year. I didn't know about the film festival until the contacted me 2 weeks before.

But this - like most everything are just concept vids, Depending on the response I see what people like and flesh things out more.

wow.................. just.......................... wow.................

this is...... dare i say it....? its fucking awesome how the expansion of the world is done and how it works...

epic cliff hanger.... makes me think that the insanity symptom mentioned by the doc is not far from the truth...

there's definetly more to Aiden's memory loss than first expected or thought of... would be nice to get to see Geom's room in a future episode.

there's a few slight ticks in the video, now, i don't know if its production related or the viewer thats causing that... but i DID notice the "translators/transmitors" on the head of Charlie aren't glowing for most of the time they walk on the second floor after the "educational" lapsus on how to use the elevator. my guess is due to the shading it was sorta hard to either notice them not displaying or a simple forgetfulness. either way it doesn't really matter in the story xD

Tanadrine-Studios responds:

Concerning charlie's thought articulators (that's what the floaty things are called), I had trouble with those because I didn't know how to "bake in" the animation at the time, so every time I opened up Lightwave it "reset" the lights... I had forgotten to re-setup the audio-to-luminosity setting before doing a 40+ hour render, so I decided to let it go and move on. I know how to fix the issue now at least. Learning 3d can frustrate the hell out of you :)

nice setting and use, or lack of bedside manners for the doctor. Reminds me of the EMH in StarTrek: Voyager in its first season. so rigid, so cold and by the book, all protocol and nothing else matters even if the doc unintentionnaly injures the patient.

the more i watch of this serie, the less i feel its like ReBoot ;P its beginning to have its own identity now. i've seen many reviews saying it reminds people of ReBoot, have to admit there is some truth to that BUT, i've watched ReBoot from episode one to season 4 two part movie length episodes and i have to revoke the idea of you styling off of that show.

Your techniques may be similar to an extent but the story telling and environmental feel is very very different and in no way so far have you had any quirky episode filled with gags to change the mood of the season for a moment or throw in a few gags in an episode to releave some of the tension before the "win" scene, or even have clear enemies to fight on a episode by episode basis.

nope! none of it!! not at all!!!

your a very talented author and you deserve credit on your own terms. You've put a lot of effort and time into making this really beautiful work that has such depth and sensitivities and a bunch of in-between characters communication issues with a touch of modern, if not futuristic feel to it.

with a bit of luck and some more of your creative ingenuity, i'm sure you'll make a name for yourself in a matter of time.

i sorta hate myself for saying this but damn i can't deny it, your work, even if limited for now, is friggin BETTER than ReBoot!!!

HOURRAY FOR FURRY AND SCI-FI!!!

Tanadrine-Studios responds:

I wouldn't say better, just different, and for a different audience, though I do understand why people would make the comparison between this and Starfox/reboot/beast wars/etc. I liked those shows too growing up... in fact I was obsessed with 3d stuff back in the day. The now-crappy 3d animations of the "Johnny Quest" animated series fascinated me in ways you wouldn't believe. Delura is definitely a series not aimed at children or teens, which sets it apart in that aspect. The visual style starts to change noticeably starting with Episode 5.

Thanks so much for your detailed commentary, I really enjoy hearing about what people like best out of our work in addition to advice and constructive criticism. It helps me out a lot more than what most people probably think!

one word: WiCKed

From all AYB i've seen, this as to be the best one made yet.

If not, well dress me as a chicken and call me a monkey.

On the the last passage of cat, the way he's looking reminds me of a character i've seen elsewhere but i cant put my finguer on it.
Could you answer my question?
Hope so.

TmsT responds:

I dunno... I was just going for the generic "HAHA! I AM TEH STRONGEST WARRIOR WITH MY DRAGONBALLS!!11" look. That pose is all over anime. And in that "Tenacious D - Tribute" video too.

SO SWEET, no kidding!

You are awesome dude(tte)...
This flash is perdy good.
Just add the subtitles for lyrics and you got yourself a fan and a perfectly good animation.

Its great the way it is though, dont change it if you dont want to.

BlackmarketKraig responds:

Yay! Thank you so much! :D

keep it up

not bad in fack its really good the guy in the spaceship strangely looked like the older Link from Ocarina of Time dont you think. This could be a new beginning for Link. It means that he finaly found Zelda and that now he saves the universe from evil ;-)

keep up the good work man

adam-p89 responds:

LoL thanks linkerman! I'm a huge Zelda fan (I just got the Zelda Collector's Edition today by the way!), but the guy in the spaceship is Lonesoul from my Lonesoul series. Check them out, there are three Episodes currently on NG. You can link to them through my profile. Thanks a lot man!

Gamer by night. Worker by day. Zelda Fan all the time. New LoL fanfic writer... Not gonna complain though, I like it.
